About

Borealis is using its proprietary Optimized Geothermal and Element (OGE) exploration technology to develop geothermal energy and brine mining projects in Western and Northern Canada, as well as provide a full suite of geothermal energy consulting services to a diverse set of clients. The technology comprises an interactive suite of programs, algorithms and workflows designed to optimize exploration funds throughout all stages of a geothermal reservoir characterization project. With project-specific input parameters and a growing geodatabase, OGE provides the most cost-effective pathways for development and permitting during all exploratory stages with the purpose of minimizing the risks commonly associated with geothermal exploration.

Borealis is a Certified B Corp and uses business as a force for good. Borealis works closely with host communities and First Nations partners to build geothermal energy projects and business cases that support local jobs, a diversified economy, zero-emission power and heat production, and participation in the international mineral sector. Geothermal energy development requires a similar skillset to oil and gas, and as such has the potential to provide jobs for out-of-work oil and gas workers.

Borealis owns/co-owns mineral and geothermal resource permits in British Columbia, and Borealis’s Kitselas Geothermal Inc. project has been named a Clean50 2020 Top Project.
