ACTia’s Virtual Clean Tech Matchmaking is an exclusive and curated service that matches clean technology ventures to a global network of investors, strategic partners, buyers and funders.

Combining our proven deal flow model, with best practices in online matchmaking, ACTia has developed a process that is efficient for participants, delivers higher quality matches, and engages a more diverse and international mix of both ventures and investors.

The event will take place as a series of online video pitches followed by curated meetings between clean tech ventures and investors/strategics.

This style of event gives ventures a great opportunity to put their quick pitch in action and we were pleased with the number of follow-up meetings that came out of these quick discussions

Application Process


Applications Closed

Ventures complete a comprehensive online application form. Responses are used to help select participating ventures, match them to appropriate investors, and create a detailed Venture Profile to be provided to the matches. Once selected, ventures will record 3-minute pitches to be streamed at the event.


  • Complete Venture Application
  • Application results will be sent out by Aug 21st.
  • If selected, you will be invited to self-record a 3 minute video pitch, and submit by August 31st.
  • Your Venture Profile will be sent to investors/strategics you have matched with.
  • Pitches will be streamed for registered investors/strategics on Sept 16th and 17th.
  • Investors / Strategics schedule Introductory Meetings with their top picks from approx. Sept 18 – Oct 2nd.


Applications Closed

Investors complete a brief online application form to clarify their investment criteria. Their responses are used to generate a list of potential matches. Investors will have the chance to review the initial list and reject any ventures they do not wish to meet with. Matched Investors must commit to at least three Introductory Meetings.

Investors (non-curated option) complete basic registration for the Virtual Pitch Event, and commit to at least one Introductory Meeting.


  • Complete Investor/Strategic Application
  • ACTia will send accepted investors / strategics their initial list of venture matches, in mid-late August.
    • Sponsors who are getting Enhanced Matching, will get their initial matches in early-mid August.
  • Review your list of initial matches, and confirm which ventures you’d like to learn more about.
    • If you are not interested in any of the ventures, you are under no obligation to register for the event.
  • Once you confirm your interest, you will receive a link for free registration to the Matchmaking, including access to:
    • A Venture Profile for each of the initial matches you confirmed
    • The Virtual Pitch Sessions, in mid-September
    • Introductory Meetings, September 18 – Oct 2nd (roughly)

Non-confidential but content-rich overview of select ventures participating in Matchmaking. Hosted on the ACTia website throughout the year, they are designed to raise awareness for the ventures, and encourage early interest from investors. An example can be viewed here.

Venture Profiles

Detailed information about the ventures and the funding or support they are seeking. This information is only provided to confirmed matches. Profiles will be created with the information collected from the application form.

Virtual Pitch Session


Ventures will pre-record 3-minute video pitches that will be shown to Investors at the Virtual Pitch Sessions on September 16 – 17. Once Investors view the video pitches and read the Venture Profiles, they will schedule introductory meetings within 2 weeks of the pitch session.

Previous Matchmaking Events

ACTia has organized 4 increasingly successful matchmaking events over the past few years. They have become our most anticipated events, and consistently generate excellent ratings on post-event surveys.

Our event in June 2019 at Inventures, reported $1.5M in potential deals. Participants rated the event at an average of 4.2 / 5 for advancing their priorities, and 4.6 / 5 for likelihood to recommend the event. These high reviews resulted in a Net Promoter Score of 63.
